A Week of Celebration

This week was jam packed as you can see from all the birthday photos, but we did make the time to continue our Tuesday tradition with Sam's by the Sea, a Hawaiian-Asian flare known for their seafood and tropical drinks.

We were greeted by Sailor the parrot.  Grayson found him very amusing and couldn't help but to point and shout.

Because most Japanese restaurants either do not have high chairs or give you a high chair which is really a stool without any safety belts or trays, we decided to get Grayson this.  A seat that clips right on the table.  We don't know what it's called because the box was all in Japanese.  Thank goodness there were pictures to help us figure out how to work it.  You can tell Grayson looks unamused that he can no longer run free.

As we waited for our food, it was fun to look at all the beachy decor like this light made out of a blow fish skin.

Random picture of the week goes out to Uncle Adam..... do you have purple and pink equipment out on the job site?  Really brightens up the place, don't ya think?

We got a surprise batch of cookies from Aunt Tiffany.  After much convincing, Michael decided to share half of a cookie with his son (I had to sneak one for myself when he wasn't looking).   Tiffany makes the best chocolate chip cookies,  just what we needed for a little pick-me-up.

Grayson missed Easter last year by just a few weeks, but we made up for it this year.  Our Easter started out with the Blessed Food for breakfast, a tradition on the Senk side.  Each food represents something from the crucification.  As a little twist, we used Japanese green horseradish.  Wasabi!

Instead of an Easter basket, Grayson got an Easter bucket... and some sand tools so he's ready for the grand opening of the beaches in a few weeks.

Grayson's Easter present was a big bag of Mega Blocks, which are just oversized Legos.  He really took to building.  Could it be another engineer in the making?

After church, Grayson spent most of the afternoon at the pool reading his new birthday books.  Thanks for the outfit Grandma and Grandpa.  He was the best dressed boy on the island.  

We had Easter dinner at a friend's house....

And finished up the week with some bunny cake, just as fun as I remember growing up.
