Moshimoshi! (Hello in Japanese!)
As previewed, we've been in TOKYO with my brother Alex and his girlfriend Cathy! Who, by the way, Michael, Grayson, and I were ecstatic to see! 
It's taken a few days since we've been back to update the blog because combined Alex, Cathy, and I took almost 1,000 pictures. Most of the pictures you'll see here are Cathy's though, she has a great eye for photography!
Our dad had been to Tokyo several times when we were little, making the trip even more special for Al and me since we could remember all the stories dad used to tell us, but it was also a much needed sense of home and family being with my little brother.
Tokyo definately lived up to its western appearance and notoriously hard to navigate reputation. Even Al and Cathy, the world travelers, thought it was confusing at times, but we eventually got the hang of it-- see Grayson below riding the metro--- and saw some great sites...
We all stayed together in a suite at the Grand Prince Hotel in Western Tokyo. We were a stone's throw away from streets and streets of restaurants and shops, although we had the hardest time deciding where to eat each night.
The best part about our location was the view of downtown Tokyo from our room at night.
We started the trip off right with a big sushi dinner.
Even Grayson got in on the action with a tomato, avacado, and cucumber roll.
Our first day started out a little rainy so after a leisurely breakfast of assorted crepes, we began our sight-seeing with some indoor activities.
First on our agenda was the Tokyo National Museum....
which happened to be located in a beautiful park full of huge trees and a lake with giant lilly pads and enormous fish ....

We even got our first glimpse of the local Buddist shrines.
We finished the day with our first taste of bubble tea (tapioca balls in a flavored milky drink) and...
eating at a Swedish smorgasbord. Don't ask why. It's a long story and needless to say we were pooped by the end of the day.

That is awesome. It looks like you all had a great time. I am so jealous that Alex got out there... I am coming... at some point. I promise!!! Hopefully we can talk soon!
