Happy 2nd Birthday Grayson Cole!!!

Grayson officially turned 2 on April 10! Since we are a day ahead in Japan, we made it a birthday weekend so he got to celebrate his birthday on April 10 Japan time and April 10 US time.

He woke up to a stack of presents from the family in his toy room.

He loved opening all the cards first, especially the card from Max!

Then we had some fun playing with our new inside toys. Reusable stickers from Unc Al and Aunt Cathy!
(Notice they match his pjs :)

We took turns practicing our doctor skills on Bobo the bear and listening to baby brother. Thanks Unc and Cathy!

Grayson started to learn to read with Aunt Tiffany's Vtech books. Thanks Aunt Tiffany!

Then we had a healthy breakfast of M&M pancackes and maple syrup sausage!

Next, off to play at the park with his best bud Kasch. Kasch gave Grayson some new books; one of which was about planes so the boys had to get in a reading right away!

Grayson was really grateful for the presents!

Working off all that energy made us hungry so we had lunch next door at the Tee House overlooking the flight line and the ocean where we watched all the planes in the pattern.

After naptime, we played with our new outside toys. A soccer net from Unc Adam and Aunt Katie. Grayson was doing speed drills around the cones and then kicking a goal, but by the time I got the camera he only wanted to give me this goofy smile.

He also learned that his soccer net could double for field hockey if he used his golf clubs. Thanks Unc and Katie!

A basketball hoop from Mommy and Daddy!

We are thinking of opening a rec center in our backyard :)

Since the weather gave us a break from rainy season, we grilled out for dinner.

And then, of course, had cake!

Grayson loves to read the junior book of Pirates of the Caribbean so we got him a pirate cake.

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday dear Grayson!

Happy Birthday to you!

Sunday we were still having nice weather, so we took Mr Man fully dressed in a pirate bathing suit and rash guard to Araha beach, also known as Pirate Ship Park.

Now, you wouldn't be able to tell from these photos, but....

It takes Grayson a while to warm up to the idea of sand.

Trying to get a family shot with all of us looking at the camera proved to be a tall order.

So, Michael and I did our own photo shoot.

The last week of pregnancy and swelling from hot weather are really coming through now.

Alas, the pirate ship!

Mommy and Gunpowder Grayson as Daddy refers to him.

And Grayson escaped with his own birthday date in tact and not having to share with his little brother!

We finished up the birthday weekend helping with tools and drawing on our new easel from Uncle Ben and Mary. He's already drawn on it again this Monday morning. Thanks Uncle Ben and Mary!

Happy 2nd Birthday Grayson Cole!
